Theodore Treese completed his undergraduate education in psychology and his medical education both at the University of Miami, followed by completion of his psychiatry residency training at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. He next completed psychoanalytic training at the Contemporary Freudian Society in Washington D.C. as he developed expertise in inpatient psychiatric treatment, in addiction treatment, and in outpatient psychiatric treatment early in his career. He is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in adult psychiatry and by the American Board of Preventive Medicine in addiction medicine. He has recently completed his Master of Business Administration from Florida Atlantic University. He is an active member of the American Psychiatric Association, the Florida Psychiatric Society, the American Society of Addiction Medicine, the International Psychoanalytical Association, and the American Psychoanalytic Association.
Through practice in government and in private sector settings at all levels of service Treese has developed expertise in addiction treatment, inpatient and outpatient psychopharmacologic treatment, psychoanalysis and psychotherapy, and forensic psychiatry. Areas of specialty in both leadership and in front-line roles include assessment and treatment of disorders within mood and anxiety, trauma and stressor-related, psychotic, neurocognitive, substance use, personality, somatic, feeding and eating, impulse control, and paraphilic categories.
Dr. Treese has expertise in clinical trials investigating most anxiety disorders including PTSD, depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, substance use disorders, dementia, and suicide. Study settings under his management have included inpatient, outpatient, ALF, and virtual settings. He has drawn from broad professional experience which include clinical and business endeavors in addition to clinical trial experience to actively manage studies from initial overture through close-out. At his clinical sites, you may expect thorough management of safety, and a true partnership in operationalization of studies both in well-established settings and in novel settings such as ALF sites, virtual studies, and psychedelic studies.
