  • Clinical Operations Manager

Kate Templeton has over 10 years of clinical experience working in both inpatient and outpatient mental health settings with children/adolescents and adults. Both clinically and in research, Ms. Templeton has worked in the treatment of various psychological disorders and has over 5 years of experience administering neuropsychological and cognitive assessments. Ms. Templeton completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh, before obtaining a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Chatham University. Ms. Templeton began her career at Segal Trials as a Clinical Rater/Sub-Investigator, before being promoted to Supervisor of the Clinical Rating Team.

As Clinical Operations Manager, she supervises site level and clinical staff members and supports them in day to day operations, staffing needs, reaching forecasted goals, all while maintaining high levels of quality. Ms. Templeton is involved in recruiting highly qualified candidates to join our team and assists with the company’s onboarding to ensure that all new staff members are trained with a comprehensive understanding of the company and research industry’s practices.

She is passionate about Segal’s advocacy and education initiatives and has helped to facilitate community presentations to destigmatize CNS research and bring awareness to the importance of Clinical Trials. Further, she assists with developing and running Segal’s internal staff training, which focuses on professional development and advancement and keeping our teams up to date on industry trends. Along with the Director of Clinical Operations, she has contributed to writing abstracts, creating poster presentations, and implementing strategies at the site level to mitigate placebo response.

Ms. Templeton interfaces daily with our business development, marketing and recruitment departments in order to meet study start-up timelines, including completion of feasibilities, contracts, and budgets. She holds weekly meetings to inform all departments of study updates, recruitment initiatives, and site needs to exceed contractual goals and minimize any quality concerns. She is responsible for tracking key performance indicators, quality metrics and regularly analyzes company data to identify growth areas and implement new strategies to help reach revenue goals and maximize our ROI.
